Children’s Magazine Illustration & Mascot creation
Carrot Prince

Project description

The German Equestrian Association e.V., the federal association for equestrian sports and horse breeding, approached me in 2020 and wanted a mascot for their new children’s magazine, the Carrot Prince. Back then, for the first issue, I created the Carrot Prince (a cheeky Shetland pony) in a standard pose as a “logo”, along with appropriate lettering, a spot-the-difference puzzle, a stable scene and various smaller illustrations.

The children’s magazine is for young members up to the age of 13 and offers topics about horses that are prepared in a child-friendly manner. After a year’s break, the magazine is now published twice a year, in spring and autumn. For the current spring edition there should be a hidden object picture, a labyrinth puzzle, a spot-the-difference puzzle, a new stable scene, coloring pages, stickers and seven new individual illustrations. A selection of other illustrations for the Carrot Prince (e.g. the labyrinth and hidden object picture) can be found in my references. Feel free to take a look around!

The illustrations were created on my XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro in Photoshop and my iPad Pro 12.9 in Procreate.

More illustrations and puzzle fun will follow for the fall edition. I’m looking forward to it! And the children probably too 😉
