Project description
For his new book series “Kings & Monsters” Erik (the author of Yuna) came to me again to design the cover, the title lettering and a “logo”.
Since it was supposed to be a cover that would be used again and again for all volumes (fixed individual elements), a lot of discussions and drafts were necessary until the cover was finished. Always in close cooperation and consultation with Erik and Stephanie, so that everything really fit. The lettering should be unique and concise, with elements from different peoples. The logo or emblem also shows representatives of your species and serves as a kind of brooch. This emblem appears again and again throughout the book and becomes a trademark. The first volume is in a bright blue, matching the title. All others are expected to be released in different colors.
The book cover, including all elements, was created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Then assembled as a whole in Adobe InDesign.
